{ } How it works
PNG to WebP works on the file you upload. Adjust the options, then select Process ▸ and it runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server — then shows the result in the Output panel.

- Quality (1–100) — a value (default: "90")

{ } Limitations
- This is a lossy WebP encode at the quality you choose, not lossless WebP, so a PNG holding crisp text or flat colour can pick up faint artefacts. Raise the quality if you see them.
- A PNG that is already small — an icon, a simple diagram — may not shrink much, and can occasionally come out slightly larger.
- Metadata is dropped in the canvas round-trip.

Yes — it’s completely free and needs no sign-up.
Does the transparency survive?
Yes. WebP has an alpha channel, so transparent areas stay transparent. That is the main reason to choose it over JPG, which fills transparency with white.
